Hi, I’m Jared Cammon

After working as an engineer and later as a teacher, I realized I wanted to do both at the same time! I am now a full-time Engineering Professor at Lone Star College-CyFair, where I teach in the Field Service Technology Program, and I am enjoying every minute of it. My passion is preparing traditional and nontraditional students with the skills they need to succeed in engineering and engineering technology. I am also passionate about helping young people discover the possibilities available within engineering fields. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University in 2003, followed by my Master of Science in Bioengineering from Clemson University in 2005 and my Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Houston in 2026.

I am currently  junior at Cypress Woods High School, where I balance my high school classes with dual-credit college courses through Lone Star College. I also play point guard on the Cy-Woods junior varsity basketball team and participate in S.A.L.T., our Student Athletic Leadership Team. Whether I am in the classroom or on the court, I enjoy working with others and helping them succeed. As a Pre-Algebra and Algebra I tutor, I want to help students strengthen the skills they will need for future math courses while making difficult concepts easier to understand. After high school, I plan to attend the University of Houston, like my father, and pursue a pre-med track. My long-term goal is to attend medical school and become a surgeon.
