Mr. Cammon,
I had problems in physics understanding how to calculate things such as kinetic and potential energy and how far an object would travel if pushed with x amount of force, and you helped me understand that better. I did better in physics after you went over that. You were very patient and went over the material calmly, giving us enough time to process the information and ask plenty of questions. Thank you for helping me out. I looked forward to your Intro to Engineering class everyday and enjoyed it very much!

Dear Mr. Cammon
It was a joy to be in your Intro to Engineering class and learn from someone who has reached so many goals in the engineering world. Me as an African-American I personally appreciate you teaching and showing that African-Americans can be leaders in the engineering world as well. You filled us with a lot of important information that will be very helpful in the future. I thank you so much for you to take the time out of your day to come teach us and give us a head start.

Sincerely,

Mr. Cammon,
I thought you were an excellent math teacher. I usually struggle in math and always have, mostly during high school. I like your teaching style and how you broke each problem down and explained the process perfectly in your notes. If you taught College Algebra I would definitely sign up for your class next semester. Oh, and the ice breaker thing on the first day and the factoring bingo were nice additions to your class!
To sum it up, I really enjoyed the class and would recommend you to anyone I know that needs to take Algebra.

Mr. Jared Cammon is a great professor! Last summer I attended his Technical Calculations course which was the last course in my program at Lone Star College Cy-Fair. Technical Calculations is about many different types of math concepts. In just a short summer term, I learned techniques that I will use over a lifetime and apply on a daily basis in my career and in many situations in life. It was a very intensive course and I always needed extra help. Mr. Cammon was always willing to help us with further explanation about the subject before class or during breaks. Mr. Cammon was also patient and made the material easier to understand despite the fact that I hadn’t taken math in years. I found the classes very helpful because the math problems were broken down into smaller, simpler pieces; which made it a lot easier for me to understand. I highly recommend Mr. Cammon as a teacher as well as a tutor. He is a great teacher and really helps you out with any problem that you have. Try Mr. Cammon as your tutor and see for yourself!

I had Mr. Cammon for my Developmental Math 320 class Spring 2013 semester at College of the Mainland. During this time frame Mr. Cammon and I formed a very good Student/ Teacher relationship. During instruction, Mr. Cammon provided us with colorful step-by-step instruction which helped me tremendously. I found myself doing the exact same thing on my homework, quizzes and exams.
He also made the class very interesting by sharing his personal stories and applying them to the instruction. One particular instance is that he is a Cyclist and he applied how many miles he rode to fit the equation. Mr. Cammon possesses a combination of intelligence, commitment, perseverance, creativity and a compassionate character that certainly makes him a valuable member of any academic program. His determination in assuring all students have an understanding of the material presented, speaks highly of his overall character. I would highly recommend Mr. Cammon to my friends.

Dear Mr. Cammon –
Words cannot express how grateful I am that you were my Math Instructor. Being a woman of a mature age, I was terrified of math, as it had always been a subject that I struggled with in school. I was worried that I would not be able to understand and would fail miserably.
You were very relaxed with your instruction, and were willing to take on even the most silly of questions if that’s what it took to get people to understand. You were empathetic to my math anxiety and were willing to look over my work and reassure me that I truly did understand the subject material, and had the ability to pass the class if I put in the work. Your intuitive understanding of people and what they need in order to understand difficult course material is unparalleled, in my opinion.
Because of you I am ready to take on Math with renewed confidence.
Thank you, Mr. Cammon!

Mr. Cammon,
Thank you for this last semester. I think you are a very good instructor, actually care that your students understand the concepts. If anyone asks, I would definitely recommend you. It’s been a long time since I took any math so I was glad I was able to pull out some of those memories from cobweb storage in the shadows of my brain. It was good to put into practice stuff that I learned 20-30 years ago. Hope you have a nice summer break…that’s if you are not teaching a class.

Math was always a struggle for me. Being a non-traditional student, I had spent more time away from a classroom than actually in one. Mr. Cammon showed an understanding that he was teaching a class full of non-traditional students with multiple backgrounds, experiences and vast levels of mathematical experience. My own personal anxiety was all but eliminated due to his obvious desire to see us all succeed. The going over a problem one way and then doing the same question a completely different way to make sure that everyone grasped the concept was crucial in my perspective. One of the major ways that he helped me was when I jokingly made the comment that letters and numbers should not hang out in the same places. He agreed with me but also taught me that they do have a relationship and understanding that relationship would help me to see the “big picture”. Thanks to him and this perspective I was doing trigonometry on a Sunday to hang a shelf in my bedroom! Not pushing me and my redundant questions away during class and during tutoring was probably the key. He is an amazing teacher, mentor and friend for however brief our paths crossed. He injected quality passion and a true desire to learn in all of his students who are going out in their respective fields doing the same. I am very thankful for all of his help and I will graduate and go on to a four year degree because of him.
